Islamabad—Malik Riaz, the central character of alleged graft case of Arsalan Iftikhar, on Tuesday appeared before the media and gave vent to accusations against the son of Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry, adding he respects the Chief Justice of Pakistan but only wants justice. Carrying a copy of the Holy Quran in his hand and using harsh words against the Chief Justice, the aggressive business tycoon spoke at a crowded press conference, directly hitting the CJP. “I want answers of three questions from the CJP. He should tell the nation that how many times he met me in the darkness,” Riaz said.

Haqqani held disloyal to country, authored memo

Islamabad—The memo commission’s report submitted in the Supreme Court stated that Pakistan’s former ambassador to the US, Husain Haqqani, was not loyal to the country and that the memo seeking US support was indeed real and authored by Haqqani,. A nine-member larger bench of the Supreme Court was on Tuesday hearing constitutional petitions about the controversial memo delivered to former US military chief Admiral Mike Mullen reportedly by Haqqani.

Memo report PML-N seeks treason trial of corrupt rulers

Islamabad/lahore—Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Tuesday, saying the Memogate Commission report has laid bare the real face of the rulers, pleaded the Supreme Court (SC) to put them on exit control list (ECL). Talking to media outside Punjab Assembly Lahore, Rana Sanaullah said if the memo was genuine, then the role of the ‘boss’ also stands substantiated. He termed President Zardari and PM Gilani as “traitors”.

Krishna in Washington for ‘strategic dialogue’

Washington—Indian External affairs minister SM Krishna arrived in Washington to hold the third strategic dialogue with his counterpart Hillary Clinton, during which the two sides are expected to discuss a wide range of bilateral and regional issues. Krishna, who would co-chair the meeting with Clinton on June 13, is leading a high-powered delegation. During the meet the two leaders are expected to deliberate on issues related to Afghanistan, Pakistan, Asia-Pacific region and their joint collaboration in third world countries.
