Separate Ministry for disabled persons suggestedSana Jamal Islamabad—A nation with over 10 per cent disabled population urgently requires proper legislation to secure the rights of persons with disabilities. The pressing demand for a separate ministry to deal with disability issues in Pakistan came forward at a gathering ‘An Evening with Persons with Disabilities’ held at National Institute of Special Education, Islamabad.
The meeting arranged by Initiative for Raising Awareness, Development and Assimilation of the Handicapped (IRADAH) in collaboration with Telenor Pakistan was attended by a large number of people with disabilities.
MIH holds seminar on Epilepsy Eminent specialist delivers talkAshraf Ansari Islamabad—Eminent specialist Dr Irfan Malik from Kings Hospital London delivered an awareness talk at the Maroof International Hospital (MIH) on Tuesday on causes, symptoms and possible treatment of Epilepsy. He is currently visiting MIH on an invitation by the Chairman of the Hospital, Chaudhry Naseer Ahmed.
Dr.Irfan Malik in his talk also expressed his expert views on creating comfortable and secure atmosphere for patients of Epilepsy. After his awareness lecture, the doctor sought questions from the audience and answered them to the satisfaction of the questioners.
