Pak-India Business Council to organize Rajasthan ExpoStaff Reporter Lahore—Pak India Business Council (PIBC) will organize Rajasthan Industrial, Trade and Craft Exhibition with the title “Prosperity and Progress Together”, at Expo centre here from October 18-21 next.
The event is being organized in collaboration with Rajasthan Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Chairman PIBC Noor Muhammad Kasuri said here on Sunday.
He said that hundreds of trade and industrial organizations and individuals will participate in the event to display their products and services.
Petroleum products consumption touches 13,879m ton in 9 monthsStaff Reporter Islamabad—The overall consumption of petroleum products in the country has touched 13,879 million tonnes mark during last nine month as compared to 13,802 million tonnes in corresponding period of previous year.
The consumption posted a positive growth of 0.6 percent, said a data available with this agency. It said agriculture sector witnessed 40.8 per cent decline followed by the government sector with 20.3 per cent. Similarly, power sector and household sector had also shown negative growth in the consumption of petroleum products for the period under discussion, posting - 5.2 per cent and -8 percent respectively.

It is the only bus service, which operates at the route in summer season from June to August every year since 1997, for tourists from across the country especially the twin cities of Rawalpindi-Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi.
Agri credit requirements estimates Rs 750b in FY 11-12Islamabad—Total agriculture credit requirements have been estimated at Rs 750 billion for the current financial year, out of which Rs.650 billion would be required for farm sector and Rs.108 billion for non farm sector. According to an official, keeping in view the available capacity and past performance the Agricultural Credit Advisory Committee (ACAC) has fixed target of Rs 285 billion for the year current financial year ending June 30, 2012 as compared to Rs 270 billion, 5.6 per cent higher than the target of 2010-11 and 8.4 per cent higher from actual disbursement of Rs 263 billion.EOBI provides Rs 7.962b as monetary benefits for 0.351m workersStaff Reporter Islamabad—Employees Old Age Benefits Institutions (EOBI) has provided Rs.7.962 billion to 0.351 million during last nine months to ensure monetary benefits for workers.
This disbursement is 17.8 per cent higher as compared to the corresponding period of last year, an official at EOBI said on Sunday.
He said as per plan 0.332 more beneficiaries would take benefit from the EOBI’s programmes till June this year as an additional amount of Rs. 3.792 billion is allocated for these beneficiaries.
Volkswagen to build 4mn cars in ChinaFrankfurt—Volkswagen plans to nearly double its production in China in the next few years, according to a management board member who was recently appointed to head the group’s operations in the country. “By 2018 we will raise our production capacity in the country to 4 million vehicles,” Jochem Heizmann told German weekly magazine Focus. VW’s two Chinese joint ventures are investing a total of 14 billion euros ($17 billion) by 2016, and the Wolfsburg, Germany-based group has said in the past its annual production capacity in China would rise to 3 million cars as early as next year. |
