Formation of two new provinces in Punjab
Zardari’s move baseless, merely eyewash: ShahbazB K Tahir Bahawalpur—President, Asif Ali Zardari’s recent move to befool the people is a big drama based on fraud, as the reference sent for the formation of two provinces in the Punjab was totally baseless and merely eyewash. This reference has no valid ground as the formation of the Bahawalpur province needs no committees and it can be announced through an executive order.
This was stated by the Punjab Chief Minister, Mian Shahbaz Sharif here Tuesday morning during his visit to the protest camp set-up at Dring Stadium by the PML (N) against the existing long duration unscheduled load shedding of electricity in the area which has made life miserable for public as well as ruined the business activities and social life.
Balochistan budget to be people-friendly: RaisaniStaff Report Quetta—Balochistan’s fifth budget to be presented on June 11 would be balanced and people-friendly, Balochistan Chief Minister Aslam Raisani said. The chief minister said this in a meeting that was held to review the recommendations regarding the upcoming budget and different aspects of the annual development programme.
Parliamentary leaders of the provincial coalition government, including Balochistan Senior Minister Abdul Wasay, Engineer Zamarak Khan, Captian (r) Abdul Khaliq Achakzai, Ali Madad Jattak, Mir Asim Kurd Gilo, Asad Baloch and Balochistan Chief Secretary Babar Yaqoob Fateh Muhammad were present on the occasion.
Water shortage threatens survival of 100 yr old forestMultan—Over a century old forest in Peerowal (Khanewal) faces acute water shortage, threatening the survival of this natural habitat of birds and animals,besides hurting efforts for a greener Pakistan. Official sources from the Forests department Multan division told APP that Peerowal was notified as a forest in 1915 and it sprawls on 19289 acres. However, sizeable portions of this land were given to some government departments for different reasons—including setting up a wildlife park, promotion of fisheries etc, and the forest area thus shrunk to 8400 acres only.

Youth stabs mother, step-father to death
Man guns down 7 family members over property disputeChakwal/Okara—An enraged person killed seven people of his own family his brother, sister in law, nephew and three nieces due to domestic dispute in Chakwal. According to police, Mohammed Dorez brother Shoaib fire on them when Mohammad Dorez and his family were sleeping in their house. Mohammed Dorez his wife Tasleem, three daughters Shumaila, Ume-e- Nisa and Naila son Shafiq died on the spot, while another son was seriously injured. The killer lived in the same house as that of the victim’s family. According to the police accused has been arrested. Police has shifted the dead bodies to Talagang hospital and District hospital Chakwal for post-mortem. The injured son has been shifted to Civil hospital of Chakwal. |
