
IGP distribute cash award among 78 policemen
Lahore—Inspector General of Police Punjab Muhammad Habib-ur-Rehman has said that honest, brave and dutiful police officers/officials are the assets of the police force and the nation as well.
Addressing a head-money distribution ceremony held here at the Central Police Office on Wednesday, he said the police department will always encourage such brave and honest officers/officials. The IGP distributed Rs 3.4 million among 78 policemen for arresting 8 hardened criminals and killings a dangerous gangster during an encounter. On this occasion, SSP (Investigations) Akhtar Umar Laleka informed that the Investigations Branch Punjab had launched the exercise in 2007 to eliminate hardened criminals on the directives of the Punjab government. The department published first black-book in 2008 with names and record of the hardened criminals and reward for their arrest as well. The second edition was published in 2011. He informed that on the information of the Investigations Branch, the Punjab government have announced head-money on 619 proclaimed offenders and hardened criminals.—APP |
