Danish Atlas wins CAS National Jr Squash C’ship

Peshawar—Promising Danish Atlas clinched the trophy of the Chief of the Air Staff National Junior Squash Championship-2012 after defeating his strong rival Bilal Zakir in the final of the Under-19 category played at PAF Hashim Khan Squash Complex on Saturday. Air Marshal Asim Suleiman, Deputy Chief of the Air Staff (Support) was the chief guest on this occasion. Soon after arrival the chief guest was received by Air Vice Marshal Asif, Commandant Northern Air Command, former World Champion Qamar Zaman, Base Commander Peshawar, Director Sports PAF Control Board Group Captain Farhat, Officer Command Ijaz Khan and other high ranking officials.

BCCI invites Pak team to play in CLT20

Chennai—More than three years after the Mumbai terror attacks resulted in the snapping of Indo-Pak cricket ties, the BCCI said it has no objection to a team from Pakistan participating in the Champions League Twenty20 for the first time. The November 2008 terror attacks in Mumbai had not only led to a freeze on bilateral cricket ties between the two neighbours but had also resulted in Pakistani players being left out of the lucrative Indian Premier League.

NBP Twenty20 Cricket Wills club beat Young Bahadar Club

Peshawar—Wills club defeated Young Bahadar club by 76 runs in the ongoing NBP District Kohat Inter-Club Twenty20 Cricket Tournament being played at Kohat Cricket Stadium on Saturday. Wills club won the toss and decided to bat first by setting up 227 runs for the loss of nine wickets after playing the allotted 20 overs. Openeer Hanif played a key role by smashing an elegant knock of 94 runs with nine boundaries and one six, Naeem Khan 44 runs with five boundaries and two sixes, Gohar made 22 runs, Mudassir Shah scored 43 runs with seven boundaries.

Qadir unveils plan for Club cricket promotion

Peshawar—Legendary leg spinner Abdul Qadir Saturday said that he wants to bring Pakistans club cricket at par with that of Australia and England and it will only be possible if we introduce a system and justice. The system for running the affairs for club activities and the justice for those players come up with performance so that they can reach to international cricket without any favoritism or support, he elaborated.
