Kashmiris determined to continue struggle: MirwaizSrinagar—In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has said that the Kashmir movement is as alive as it was in the past and the Kashmiri people are determined to take it to its logical conclusion against all odds. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was addressing a function at the office of his party, Awami Action Committee, to pay tributes to a prominent martyred liberation leader, Abdul Salam Dalal.Bangladeshi prisoners adopt Kashmiri embroidery in Jammu jailJammu—They crossed over to India illegally to find a livelihood, but landed in jail here. Now many Bangladeshi infiltrators are being provided training in Kashmiri embroidery at the Kot Bhalwal jail here. Many of the nearly 90 Bangladeshi prisoners lodged in the jail, on the outskirts of Jammu, feel the skill will help them live a dignified life back home after their release.Custodial killings go unchecked in occupied KashmirHumayun Aziz Sandeela THE endless custodial killings and human rights violations in occupied Kashmir have been raised time and again by the international community and human rights organizations like Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch, but all those pleas have fallen on deaf ears, as no practical step has ever been taken by India to stop these abuses and the hollow claims of Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh about ‘zero tolerance’ seem a far cry. Although the puppet Chief Minister Omar Abdullah pledged exemplary punishment for persons involved in the custodial death of Nazim Rashid, the history of inquires ordered since his administration took over in 2009 do not show any sign of justice to the victims.
