Mushahid urges political leadership to show maturity

Lahore—Secretary General Pakistan Muslim League-Q Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed Wednesday said the leadership should show wisdom and take necessary steps to avoid any clash between the institutions so that no one from military could take advantage of this disturbed situation. Addressing launching ceremony of “Will and Skill” written by Mowahid Hussain Shah here at Nazria Pakistan Trust, Mushahid said decisions of the Supreme Court should be implemented in letter and spirit and respect and honour to the Apex Court and its should be given more importance than the chair of rulership. He said if any one wants to launch Long March it should be against price hike, terrorism and shortage of energy. Later, talking to newsmen, Mushahid Hussain Syed said mistakes of the past should not be repeated and the leaders of today should learn lessons from the past mistakes.

PML-N politics betrays contradiction: Khosa

Lahore—Punjab Governor Sardar Muhammad Latif Khan Khosa has said that PML-N politics is an amalgam of contradiction, conflict, hatred, undemocratic attitudes and political jugglery. “How can N-League talk of the sanctity and honour of the Supreme Court when it trampled over the same SC in its shere ego and pride in the past”, he said while talking to a 11-member delegation of Lahore Press Club (LPC) at Governor House here.

‘Doctors interests to be watched in service structure’

Lahore—Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab on Health, Kh. Salman Rafique has said that the interests of all cadres of doctors including teaching, specialists and general cadre would be watched while preparing service structure for the doctors. He expressed these views while presiding over a high level committee meeting constituted by the Chief Minister Punjab to finalize recommendations for service structure of doctors.

PML felicitates people of South Punjab, Bahawalpur

Lahore—Pakistan Muslim League-Q President Senator Ch., Shujat Hussain and senior PML-Q leader and Federal Minister Ch Parvez Elahi have felicitated the people of South Punjab and Bahawalpur on the adoption of resolution in the Punjab Assembly for establishing provinces of these areas. They said that the people of South Punjab and Bahawalpur also deserve special felicitation that with the adoption of the resolution by the Punjab Assembly, even the opponents have accepted their right for separate provinces.

Community participation essential for dengue eradication

Lahore—Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab on Health, Kh. Salman Rafique has directed the concerned departments to improve indoor surveillance for eradication of dengue and micro planning should be made at union council level for this purpose. He observed that dengue larvae is being reported from the water containers inside the houses, therefore, community participation is essential for dengue eradication. He said this while presiding over cabinet committee meeting to review the measures taken by various departments to check dengue. Besides Members Punjab Assembly from Lahore, Commissioner, DCO Lahore, Secretaries, Addl. Secretaries of concerned departments including Health and other senior officers also attended the meeting. It was informed that meetings of town response committees are being held on regular basis in which public representatives and officers of concerned departments are participating. The meeting decided that “Dengue Mukao” campaign would be launched door to door at UC level with the help of volunteers, officials of district government, NGOs and local public representatives.
