Shortfall reaches 7252MW
Citizens witness worst loadsheddingLahore—Prolonged and unscheduled loadshedding due to gap between generation and consumption has adversely affected the routine life, business activities and industrial sector. According to details, electricity shortfall has reached 7252MW, the highest figure during the current years. Due to shortfall urban areas have to face 10 to 14 hours loadshedding while rural areas witness 20 to 22 hours power outage daily.PPP sparks anti-Nawaz campaignLahore—The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Punjab Tuesday unveiled a schedule for a movement to counter Nawaz Sharif’s threat to destabilise the federal government. PPP Punjab President and State Minister Imtiaz Safdar Warraich, in a news conference along with Samina Khalid Ghurki, Faiza Malik, Mian Ayub and Naveed Chaudhary, said that the PML-N was hatching a conspiracy against a democratically elected government and violating the Charter of Democracy (COD) flagrantly. Justice Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi was hearing the petition filed by an elderly woman, Bilqees Bibi, seeking recovery of her daughter Shazia Earlier, DPO Gujrat Raja Basharat appeared before the court and submitted that Shazia could not recovered despite all-out efforts.Turkish contractors receiving $ 19 per ton solid waste ratesTajammul Gurmani Lahore—The Turkish companies will take over the waste collection control of more 28 Union Councils (UCs) of Gulberg and Samanabad Towns in current month. The foreign companies will collect door to door waste collection in primary stage and arrange road cleaning in secondary stage. They will distribute the plastics bags among the local residents and also place containers at different roads for solid waste collection.

11 LDA officials promotedLahore—The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) upon recommendations of its promotion committee has notified promotion of seven assistants BS-14 to rank of staff officers BS-16, upgraded three sub engineers from BS-11 to BS-16 and granted proforma promotion to one official. According to a notification issued here, seven assistants of BS-14 who has been promoted to rank of Staff Officer in BS-16, on regular basis, include Muhammad Sharif, Muhammad Azhar, Muhammad Akram Bhatti, Akhtar Hussain, Muhammad Taj, Abdul Rehman, and Muhammad Yousaf. Three sub-engineers promoted from BS-11 to BS-16 on regular basis are Akhtar Abid Hussain, Younas Elahi Mughal and Rana Mehmood Ikram. |
