Resolution on South Punjab province submitted in PAStaff Reporter
Lahore—The ruling Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and their allies, the Pakistan Muslim League – Quaid (PML-Q), on Saturday submitted a joint resolution in the Punjab Assembly on the formation of the south Punjab province.
The resolution submitted in the provincial assembly states that the House demands the creation of a separate province in the southern Punjab region. Moreover, the resolution also congratulates President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on the earlier approval of a similar resolution in the National Assembly. A similar resolution on the creation of a south Punjab province was tabled in the Punjab Assembly on October 19 last year, but it was shelved without any significant proceedings. |
