Taxila—Launching its anti-government movement, President Pakistan Muslim League-N, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif made a call to the masses for a long march to get rid of ‘Gilanis’ and ‘Zardaris’. Addressing a huge rally in Taxila on Saturday Nawaz Sharif said that the nation had to launch long march for restoration of judiciary. Nawaz vowed that he and his party members would not sit idle until the looted hard earned money of the masses stashed in Swiss banks is not returned in the coun-try. He said that the PML-N would continue its struggle for recovery of loot money.

Memogate scandal Commission orders forensic test of Ijaz’s BlackBerry

Islamabad—The judicial commission probing the Memogate scandal on Saturday issued orders for conducting forensic tests on Mansoor Ijaz’s Blackberry phone in London . Secretary for the memo commission Raja Jawad Abbas has been directed to go to London in this regard. Earlier, Husain Haqqani’s counsel Zahid Bukhari summed up his arguments where he told the court that Ijaz was of dubious character, who has not been able to back up his statements with proof.

Lyari limps back to normalcy

Karachi—Situation in Lyari returned to normal as the operation against criminals was halted Saturday after 8th consecutives days of tension and fire exchange. According to independent sources more than 30 people lost their lives in the operation and scores left injured beside the residents remained stranded and deprived of basic facilities as water, food and electricity.

Bin Laden documents Al-Qaeda wanted to assert authority over TTP

Washington—A letter seized from Osama bin Laden’s compound in Abbottabad that was written in late 2010 by two top al Qaeda leaders to the emir of the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) sheds some light on the relationship between the two groups. While the letter reflects a bit of a struggle for the upper hand between al Qaeda and the TTP, al Qaeda was clearly asserting its authority over the Pakistani Taliban, The Long War Journal reported.

Gilani assails Sharifs for manipulating masses over SC verdict

Lahore—Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani on Saturday assailed the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leadership for manipulating masses over SC’s verdict in contempt of court case against him. Speaking to lawmakers hailing from Southern Punjab, the prime minister reiterated his stand on not writing a letter to the Swiss authorities for reopening graft cases against President Asif Ali Zardari. “Constitution provides the president immunity,” he added.

Bajaur blast death toll rises to 29

Khar—Tense situation was prevailing in the tribal region where tribesmen on Saturday buried the victims of Friday’s deadly suicide attack at separate places in Bajaur Agency as the death toll rose to 29. Offices and private markets were closed in Bajaur to mourn the deaths as local tribesmen held funerals in different parts of the tribal region, witnesses said.
