Nawaz to bring out country from quagmire: Shahbaz

Lahore—Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that loadshedding, poverty and unemployment have made the life of the people miserable and it has become difficult for the poor to keep their body and soul together. He said that democracy is the name of service to the masses but the rulers sitting in Islamabad have made it a source of loot and plunder.

Khosa stresses need for educating women

Lahore—Punjab Governor Sardar Muhammad Latif Khan Khosa has stressed the need for women education and provision of equal rights, adding that women constitute fifty two percent of the country’s population. Addressing the 90th Founders Day of the Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) here, he called for revamping the education system to bring about change in the people’s mindset and improve the image of the country. The role of women is important in getting rid of the menace of terrorism. he said and asked the educational institutions to produce more and female graduates as well as introduce job-oriented disciplines in order to strengthen the country’s economy.

Govt to provide modern educational facilities

Lahore—Minister for Education Punjab, Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman has said that government is implementing a comprehensive programme for providing modern educational facilities to the children, whereas, government is giving emphasis on the teacher’s training and funds have been provided to the concerned institutions for this purpose.

PPP most popular party of country: Faiza

Lahore—Pakistan People’s Party Women Wing Lahore president Faiza Malik has said the PPP is the most popular party of the country which has deep roots among the people of four provinces and Azad Kashmir besides Gilgit Baltistan.

IGP for exemplary role of Police officers

Lahore—Newly inducted ASPs should play an exemplary role against terrorism and extremism. This was stated by Inspector General of Police, Punjab, Haji Habibur Rahman while addressing to newly inducted ASPs at Central Police Office here on Saturday. The IGP maintained that he was fully aware of the importance of police force and he expressed hope that police officers would follow moral values with professional duties. He said traditions of police would be strengthened after providing a sense of security to the masses.
