Kashmiris will never get justice from Indian courts: ZafarSrinagar—The Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement Chairman, Zafar Akbar Butt appealing to the world community to play effective role in resolving the Kashmir dispute, said that the people of Kashmir would never get justice from Indian courts or authorities on human rights violations. Zafar Akbar Butt while addressing a public gathering at Beerwah in Budgfam, said that Kashmir was a political dispute and should be resolved through tripartite talks involving Pakistan, India and the genuine Kashmiri leadership.Seeds of sectarian discord being sown in IHKSrinagar—A prominent Muslim cleric has said that “hidden and inimical forces” were bent upon destroying Sufi oriented Islam in Kashmir. A leading Arab Newspaper “Gulf News” in its recent article alarms that the Kashmir issue would be cause of nuclear war between the two rival countries if it is not ad-dressed soon.
Need to develop culture of human rights among forces: SHRCJammu—State Human Right Commission (SHRC) has stressed on the need for building culture of human rights among the security forces besides imparting human rights education at various levels in the society. The observations have been made by SHRC members during their meeting with the interlocutors appointed by Government of India and are reported in the Commission’s report for 2010-11.Geelani hails Amnesty’s demand for revocation of PSASrinagar—The veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani has hailed the global rights watchdog, Amnesty International’s demand for revocation of draconian law, Public Safety Act, from occupied Kashmir. Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar urged the Amnesty to take a serious note of the matter of released youth and impress upon the Indian government to declare as null and void the cases registered against them. |
