Qureshi hikes Terry Jones head money to Rs 4.5m

Peshawar—Adviser Fiqah Federal Shariat Court and Khateeb of Masjid Mahabat Khan Maulana Yousaf Qureshi increased head money on an American citizen pastor Terry Jones from Rs1.5 to 4.5 million. Maulana Yousaf Qureshi announced the increase during a protest demonstration started from historical Masjid Mahabat Khan and culminated at Chawk Yadgar on Friday. Hundreds of monotheists took part in the protest against the US citizen for burning Qur’an.

Sindh Cabinet expresses solidarity with PM

Islamabad—A delegation of Sindh cabinet ministers belonging to PPP led by Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah called on Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani to express complete solidarity with him and the coalition government. During the meeting here at Prime Minister House on Friday, the cabinet members also commended him for his efforts to uphold the cause of democracy and Constitution in Pakistan. Speaker of Sindh Assembly, Nisar Khuro was also present on the occasion.
Masood strongly condemns BA suicide blast

Peshawar—The Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Barrister Masood Kausar has reacted strongly over the suicide blast in a busy market in Khar Bajaur Agency on early Friday and has condemned this gruesome act of terrorism, which claimed many innocent lives including law enforcement personnel. In a statement the Governor said that the terrorist were bent upon to intimidate the people of Bajaur Agency fort their struggle against terrorism and restoration of peace in the Agency.

PML-N will be responsible for derailing democracy: Naek

Islamabad—Law Minister Farooq H Naek on Friday warned Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) that its rowdiness will create anarchy in the country and derail democracy. “Rowdiness is against the democratic norms and rules of procedure. It will lead to anarchy and if the democracy is derailed, PML-N will be responsible for it,” he said on a point of order. The Law Minister said till today the Supreme Court has not disqualified the Prime Minister, there is ruling of the Speaker National Assembly and no decision of the Election Commission regarding membership of the premier.
