Governor instructs to strengthen field education

Lahore—Governor Punjab Sardar Muhammad Latif Khan Khosa has said that Education is a powerful tool, which can shape the destiny of any nation. We, as responsible citizens of a developing nation must strengthen the field education to secure a prosperous future for our youth. It is necessary to invest in education sector as not only education emergency was declared last year in Pakistan but we also need to live up to expectations of Millennium Development Goals.

DCO for ensuring 100 pc attendance of teachers in schools

Lahore—DCO Lahore Noor-ul-Amin Mengal has said that District officers should make ensure the process of monitoring and 100% attendance of teachers in schools as well. He expressed these views while presiding over the 16th review meeting of educational department at town hall. He said that more funds to be allocated for education department keeping in view the needs of schools in upcoming budget. He said that the vacant posts of teachers will be filled soon and examination through NTS will be taken for the recruitment of teachers so that the recruitment process of teachers should be made transparent.

PPP holds rally for solidarity with labourers

Lahore—Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) here Tuesday took out a massive rally from Lahore Railway Station to Lahore Press Club (LPC) to show solidarity with the labourer community on World Labour Day. The State Minister for Interior and PPP Central Punjab President Imtiaz Safdar Warraich led the rally, while Federal Minister and PPP Lahore President Samina Khalid Ghurki, PPP Punjab General Secretary Haji Azizur Rehman Chan, Prime Minister’s Advisor Aslam Gil and other party leaders and workers ensured their active participation.

‘Peace can be restored by giving workers their rights’

Lahore —Pakistan Muslim League Punjab General Secretary Ch Zaheeruddin Khan has said that if workers were given their rights then Mall Road would not have been turned into Hartal Road and peace would be restored only after workers are given their rights. He was addressing a Labour Convention organized by PML Labour Wing Lahore to observe the May Day here today. Convention participants raised slogans in favour of Ch Shujat Hussain, Ch Parvez Elahi and Moonis Elahi.
