Kashmiris welcome UK call for Kashmir solutionHameed Shaheen Islamabad—Kashmiris belonging to all political segments have welcomed the latest call of British government for resolution of the Kashmir tangle taking into account the aspirations of the people. The call came in an annual human rights report published Monday. It says that British government always encourages both Pakistan and India to resolve Kashmir issue via talks. This British support for a peaceful Kashmir solution comes only two days after the UN Secretary General Mr Ban Ki-moon emphasized Kashmir settlement on the basis of will of the Kashmiri people.
Shabir Shah forcibly deported to SrinagarJammu—After remaining under house arrest for three consecutive days at Bhatindi Jammu, Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party Shabir Shah was forcefully deported to Srinagar on Sunday morning. Shah was scheduled to address a press conference in Jammu at 11 am on Sunday morning, but a large contingent of police including Special Operation Group (SOG), Central Reserve Police Force and JK Police personnel arrived at his Bhatindi house and forcefully rushed him to Jammu Airport.Sorry Kashmir is happy?Srinagar—Ever since a Delhi based weekly national news and features magazine Editor, Manu Joseph, wrote a piece titled, “Sorry Kashmir is happy”, the very notion of Kashmir cause having been pushed to the corner due to this write up has become alive among intelligentsia here.
