LHC issues notices to Punjab Govt

Lahore— The Lahore High Court on Monday issued notices to the Punjab government for May 24 on a petition pleading to declare that oral polio vaccine (OPV) was not properly provided to children, according to international standards and directions for a judicial inquiry against responsible authorities. Justice Umar Ata Bandial issued notices on a petition filed by petitioner-counsel Rana Ijaz Ahmad impleading the Punjab government, DG Health Punjab, DCO Lahore, EDO Health, Director EPI and others.

Four uplift schemes worth Rs 1773.033m approved

Lahore—The Punjab Government has approved Four uplift Schemes with an estimated total cost of Rs. 1773.033 million. The approval was given in the 38th meeting of the Provincial Development working Party presided over by Planning and Development Board Chairman, Javaid Aslam.

German media team visits PU

Lahore—A six member media delegation from leading German Press called on Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran at his office here on Monday. PU Registrar Prof Dr Khan Raas Masood, Director External Linkages Maria I Maldonado, faculty members and journalist from German media including Dr Erentraud Homberg, Dr Manfred Hettlage, Ron Giger, Kurt Seinitz and Andreas Gromoll attended the meeting.

PML-N leadership decides not to give further time to PPP

Lahore—Central leader of Pakistan Muslim League-N Kh. Saad Rafiq has said that if judges can be restored with one long march the corrupt government of Zardari and Gillani can also be removed through another. While addressing a public meeting in UC-06, he said that the problems of people have increased manifold in four-year tenure of Peoples Party government.

E-Governance Exhibition held

Lahore—Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) arranged the first ever two-day “E-governance Exhibition” at Arfa Software Technology Park here. At the exhibition, where 42 software projects were put on display. The projects were jointly completed by various provincial departments playing an effective role in good governance, transparency and assistance to citizens.
