Upsurge in petroleum products prices flayed

Karachi—Karachi Transport Action Committee of Anjuman Ettehad Bus Malikan (AEBM) has taken strong exception to the latest raise in the cost of petroleum items in the country. Office Bearers of the AEBM including Mohammad Ashraf Bangalori, Chaudry Mazhar Hussain, Lala Sultan, Tanzim Khan and Nazir Bangalori in a joint statement here on Tuesday called for its withdrawal.

Cleanliness drive

Karachi—The acting Nazim Shah Faisal Town, Irtiza Farooqui, converted the emergency plan chalked out for lifting and disposal of offal during Eid-ul-Azha days, into special cleanliness campaign on the 4th day. He issued directive for sweeping at street level and carry out anti-septic fumigation in the Town.

Call to curb child abuse

Karachi—Family Physicians and General Medical Practitioners have pledged to strongly support the cause of child abuse prevention and help children develop as physically and mentally stable individuals. Attending a workshop organized by Konpal, an NGO comprising doctors working for the cause of child protection, at Patel Hospital, they also committed to play their role in sensitizing parents about the issue.

Karachi—As part of global volunteering campaign, those associated with Barclays Bank Pakistan adopted various projects for the benefit of the community.
