Karachi—On the directives of Home Minister Dr
Zulfikar Ali Mirza, the police have finalised
security plan for maintenance of law and order
on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha throughout the
Province. According to the plan over 12000
strong police force would be on deployment
specially in Karachi while installation of
security cameras have been ensured for
monitoring of major eid congregations.
Karachi—Six schemes
under Lyari Development Package, Phase-II were
discussed and approved at a special PDWP meeting
held in the Planning and Development Department
under the Chairmanship of Additional Chief
Secretary (Dev) Munawar Opel. The schemes
approved pertained to Environment, Education,
Sports & Youth Affairs and PP&H sector.
Karachi—Advisor to Chief Minister Sindh,
Sharmila Farooqui has said that in Pakistani
society, people and the state apparatus
generally give benefit of doubt to accused in
rape cases. “They do not play their due role in
providing shelter to rape victims and their
families while police and other related
departments are a major source of hindrances in
rape survivors’ quests to obtain justice”.
Karachi—Advisor to
Sindh Chief Minister, Sharmila Farooqui held a
special meeting with IG Police at Central Police
Office and sought a detail report about those
killed or injured at the level of Police
Stations or Centres of Madadgar 15 due to
breaking of KESC’s electric wires and
electrocution so that federal government could
be approached for payment of compensation to
affected persons.
Karachi—A high level meeting held under the
chairmanship of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim
Ali Shah had a detailed review of availability
of essential food items in the province, their
supply and prices and decided to take stern
action against artificial hoarding and
profiteering. The Chief Minister made it clear
that the government will, at no cost, tolerate
the artificial shortage of food items and their
hoarding.
