Peshawar—The NWFP Minister for Information Mian
Iftikhar Hussain has said that the government is
going all out to enhance the professional
capabilities of the police force in order to
uproot terrorism. The level of intelligence
gathering and professional combating terrorism
is going to be up to the mark and the government
is providing force multipliers to the frontier
police in order to make them professionally
strengthened to overcome and foiled all sort of
terror related acts.
Sialkot—On the special directives of Punjab
Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, the
health department has started implementation on
a comprehensive multi-phased health sector
development programme for ensuring the early
provision of advanced medical health cover to
the local people at local level in Sialkot
district, besides, allocating Rs.85.08 million
to ensure the availability of the medicines in
all the government hospitals and Basic Health
Units (BHUs) in Sialkot district.
Peshawar—The NWFP
Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti has
approved establishment of Elite Police Training
School (EPTS) at Hund, Teshil Lahor in District
Swabi on a state land as a non-ADP scheme to
improve and develop training facilities for
capacity building of Police personnel.
Peshawar—Contrary to what some recent
media reports have indicated, the International
Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) remains active
in NWFP and tribal area, said Benno Kocher, the
head of the ICRC’ sub-delegation here.
Neither its sub-delegation in Peshawar nor its
offices in Timergara and Mingora have closed
down, he clarified here Tuesday.
