Lahore—Punjab Minister for Culture and Youth
affairs Dr. Tanvir Ul Islam Tuesday directed the
officers to take all necessary steps for timely
completion of on-going developmental projects.
He was presiding over a monthly review meeting
of developmental projects of the Culture and
Youth Affairs Departments here.

City Police Officer (CCPO), Muhammad Pervez
Rathore has said that Lahore police have evolved
a comprehensive security plan to ensure peaceful
atmosphere on the eve of Eid-ul-Azaha as more
than 10 thousand policemen will perform duty in
this regard.
Lahore—Speakers at a seminar stressed
allotting agriculture land to women tenants to
make them financially self-reliant. The seminar
was organized by Action Aid on “Allotting
agriculture land to tenant women” at a local
hotel on Tuesday. Provincial Minister for
Revenue Haji Muhammad Ishaq was the chief guest.
Lahore—Justice
Mian Saqib Nisar of the Lahore High Court on
Tuesday admitted for hearing a civil suit
against an English language newspaper and issued
notices to Majid Nizami and others to file
reply. Arif Nizami, former editor of The Nation,
also a director of Nida-e-Millat Group of
Publications Limited, filed a suit in which he
challenged his dismissal by Majid Nizami,
Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of The Nation.
Lahore—Punjab Chief Minister
Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif has played a significant
role in the rehabilitation of IDPs of Swat and
provision of medical facilities to them. “We
would not have been able to cope with such a big
challenge, had people of Punjab not provided
assistance to the people of NWFP,” said the EDO
(Health) Mardan Dr Arshad Khan who came to
Lahore to receive the ambulances donated by the
CM for the people of NWFP.
