Lahore—Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz
Sharif has directed authorities concerned to
ensure a high standard of construction work,
transparent utilization of funds and speedy
completion of development projects in the
province. He said that red-tapism will not be
allowed to hinder projects aimed at provision of
basic amenities to the masses. He also ordered
formulation of a comprehensive system and
presentation of a detailed briefing to him
within three days regarding pace of
implementation of mega projects.
Lahore—The New Textbook Policy approved by the
Federal Govt. in 2007 envisages the development
of new textbooks by Private National Publishers
on modern lines using innovative learning
techniques. The publishers will be facilitated,
regulated and monitored by Punjab Textbook Board
and approval / NOC will be given by the Federal
Government. To facilitate this process ESDP of
GTl, (German Technical Cooperation) assisted the
Punjab Textbook Board to establish a state of
the art resource centre at Punjab Textbook
Board, Lahore.
Lahore—Speaker National Assembly Dr Fahmida
Mirza has said as politicians are united,
judiciary is independent and media is playing
its role effectively as watch dog, derailment of
democratic system is not an easy task. She
was responding to questions by newsmen at the
residence of PML-N leader MNA Tehmina Daultana
here on Monday. The speaker visited Tehmina’s
house to condole demise of her husband, offered
fateha and prayed Allah Almighty to rest the
departed soul in eternal peace.
Lahore—Lahore High Court
Chief Justice Khawaja Muhammad Sharif on Monday
ordered the Punjab government to restore the
notification for upgrading employees of the
Punjab Prisons Department. The chief
justice issued the order after hearing suo mottu
notice of the reversal of Punjab Prisons’
employees upgrade by the Services & General
Administration Department.
Lahore—Secretary Health Punjab, Anwaar Ahmed
Khan has said that establishment of Health Care
Commission (HCC) in Punjab was to check
irregularities and unethical practices in the
medical profession and to restore the sanctity
of this sacred profession besides ensuring
provision of quality health-care facilities to
the common lot. He said that apprehensions
of different quarters regarding establishment of
Health Care Commission are baseless.
