30 percent KESC consumers delay bill

Karachi—The Karachi Electric Supply Company expressed confidence over the support of its 1.4 million good consumers who pay their bills on time and majority of them do not get involved in illegal use of electricity. KESC has qualified these consumers as the actual strength and pillars of the Company, a spokesman of the Company said.

WHO-IAEA to fight cancer

Karachi—The World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has announced the launch of a joint programme on cancer control, aimed at strengthening and accelerating efforts to fight cancer in the developing world. The initiative reflected growing international concern over cancer as one of the leading causes of death worldwide.

Zardari to decorate 47 students with Izaz-e-Sabqat


Karachi—As many as 47 outstanding students will be conferred ‘Izaz-e-Sabqat’ Award by the President on the occasion of the Independence Day of Pakistan. This was announced in a communication of the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) on Monday. It said that out of these, five students will be selected from Sindh.

Karachi—There is a need to foster the civic sense among people in the society. This was stated by Sindh Minister for Information Technology, Muhammad Raza Haroon. He was speaking as chief guest at a seminar held here on Sunday under the auspices of the Department of Media Sciences, Federal Urdu University.

Initiative to enhance learning experience

Karachi—An initiative has been taken by the Systems limited to work with the senior faculty of the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (NUCES FAST) and help broaden the learning experience of final year students and postgraduates at NUCES-FAST.
