Multan—Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood
Qureshi said on Saturday that government is
going to issue Benazir Smart Cards (BSC) to
benefit people living below the poverty line in
the country. While addressing public meetings in
different parts of NA- 148 constituency, the FM
said that holders of Benazir Smart Card will be
entitled to avail facilities under health
insurance, life insurance and education free of
cost.
Peshawar—Inspector General of NWFP Police (IGP),
Malik Naveed Saturday said foreign hand is
involved in the current wave of terrorism and
explosions in Peshawar and other cities of NWFP.
He said this while talking to businessmen and
city dwellers during his surprise visit to
different bazaars in Sadar and City areas.
During the visit, the IGP met with shopkeepers
and police officials at different check posts.
Bahawalpur—Chancellor of Islamia University,
Bahawalpur and Governor Punjab, Salman Taseer
Saturday said, Islam is a religion of peace and
teaches its followers for tolerance and good
relations with other religions. He stated this
while addressing the 4th Convocation of the
University here.
Hyderabad—Around five million deserving patients
of Hepatitis-C are being treated along with six
thousand patients of Hepatitis-B free of cost
under the management of Hepatitis Prevention and
Control Programme, Sindh. The program is
functional in every nook and corner of the
province on the directives of Chief Minister
Syed Qaim Ali Shah.
Muzaffarabad—Children First being a child
focused organization in collaboration with
Islamic Relief celebrated Universal Children’s
Day in Muzaffarabad AJ&K. The day was marked
with a lot of activities for children. Children
from different schools raised their voices
through tablos, speeches and songs. A quiz
completion was also took place in relation to
the Universal Children’s Day. The delegates
included school teachers, Government officials
and other civil society organizations.
