The General who turned into a soldier of the Quaid

Lt. General ® Mujib-ur-Rehman Khan became a victim of pneumonia on Thursday, November 19, and went up in the heaven, I am sure, quite gladly so that he may perhaps be in the company of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, for whose projection in the right perspective, he was striving hard for the last few years. The three-star General had turned himself into a soldier of the founder of Pakistan to whom he would confidently describe, with his wet eyes as an Ashiq-i-Rasool.

Riaz directs timely completion of water projects

Lahore—Senior Provincial Minister, Raja Riaz Ahmed Friday directed authorities to complete water projects as soon as possible so that new water reservoirs could be explored in the province. He said this while presiding over a meeting of Annual Development Programme of Irrigation Department at Committee Room of the deptt here, which was attended by Secretary Major (Retd) Azam Suleman, Head of PIDA and Chief Engineers from all over the province and other officials.

Legislation to protect children rights

Lahore—Provincial Minister for Population Welfare Neelam Jabbar Chaudhry Friday said legislation would be made for punishment for violation of children rights, so that practices like ‘wani’ could be checked. “It is important to stop the exploitations of children and the government will strictly implement existing laws and required legislation would also be made,” she said.

Computerization of police record

Lahore—Capital City Police Officer (CCPO), Muhammad Pervez Rathore has said that the whole record of Lahore Police is being rapidly computerized. Talking to media persons here Friday, he said, computerization of the record would enable every citizen of Lahore to inspect his FIR, by inserting the name of the police station.
