Peshawar—Making mockery of the tight security
measures, the terrorists continued to play their
dirty game as yet another suicide explosion
targeting the judicial complex here in the red
zone (Khyber Road) resulted in killing of 20
people and injuries to over forty others. Three
policemen and a couple of lawyers were among the
dead. Doctors at the Lady Reading Hospital
described condition of some victims as
precarious.
Karachi—The National Finance Commission on
Thursday arrived a decision in principle to base
the NFC award on a multiple criteria which would
include revenue, backwardness, population and
inwards population density besides contribution
from the provinces and federation to create a
fund to compensate NWFP for losses of war
against terror.
Islamabad—Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani
has said he himself did not get any relief under
the NRO and if proved that his spouse took
relief under the ordinance, he will tender his
resignation from the office. The Prime Minister

Wana—The Pakistani Taliban once again warned

and reiterated that they would fight the

Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) spokesman Azam
Tariq said the Pakistani Taliban would continue
their action against the present government
until it stops following America’s dictation.
Dhaka—The Bangladesh Supreme Court rejected
on Thursday an appeal by the convicted killers
of the nation’s founding President Sheikh
Mujibur Rahman, paving the way for their
execution after a 13-year trial. The country’s
highest court dismissed the five men’s appeal,
upholding their 2001 guilty verdicts, drawing an
end to a case that has haunted the nation since
the death of Sheikh Mujib in 1975.
Rawalpindi—Security forces killed seven more
terrorists in South Waziristan operation Rah-e-Nijat
in last 24 hours, said an ISPR release on
Thursday. According to the ISPR press release,
security forces carried out area domination and
consolidation of their positions around Tor Wam
on Jandola-Sararogha Axis and recovered huge
cache of arms and ammunition.
