Peshawar—Senior provincial minister Bashir
Ahmad Bilour has said that foreign hands were
supporting the terrorists and added that the
provincial government was not in a position to
control terrorism. Talking to media persons here
on Thursday, he said the provincial government
has asked the centre to take measures to stop
foreign involvement in the terror activists,
which have so far claimed hundreds of innocent
lives.
Mirpur—AJK President Raja Zulqarnain Khan has
called upon the international community,
especially United Nations and the European
Countries to perform their due role to ensure
early peaceful settlement of Kashmir issue to
avert any threat to the global peace. Speaking
to various public representative delegations
including a delegation of overseas Kashmiris at
the Kashmir House Thursday, the President called
for the resumption of result-oriented dialogue
between India and Pakistan for the resolution of
Kashmir conflict in line with aspirations of the
people of the state.
Peshawar—Provincial Information Minister Mian
Iftikhar Hussain has said that the Provincial
government was not taking dictation from anyone
and reiterated that the government would
continue to work for the welfare of the country
and the Province in particular. He was talking
to mediamen during his visit to the site of the
Khyber Road blast on Thursday.
Multan—About 824 orphans and abandoned
children are enjoying a healthy lifestyle in the
SOS village Multan. “Besides providing basic
facilities to children like shelter, food,
clothing, education and health, SOS village
managers treat them with care and support them
to adopt a healthy and disciplined lifestyle,”
says a spokesman for the SOS village. Children
go on morning/evening walks and have physical
exercise facilities.
Hyderabad—The management of Hyderabad
Electric Supply Company (HESCO) is implementing
an effective strategy for eradication of power
theft during the year 2009-2010. Under the
strategy, the HESCO officers detected 1205 cases
from July till date and found 7546 persons
guilty of power theft, of which, the Police have
registered 63 cases against 159 persons while
1042 cases of power theft against 7387 persons
have still not been registered by the Police,
the HESCO spokesman informed.
