Karachi—South Asia Publications has given Man of
the Year 2008 Award to City Nazim Karachi Syed
Mustafa Kamal for outstanding performance in the
field of Community Development. In a
ceremony held at Iqbal Academy Pakistan in
Lahore SAP also announced a gold medal and
certificate of excellence for City Nazim Syed
Mustafa Kamal while a huge portrait of Nazim
Karachi was displayed at the Hall of Fame.
Karachi—The Punjab Chief Minister, Mian
Shahbaz Sharif has urged the leadership of all
provinces to work together for bringing Pakistan
out of current situation. He was addressing the
workers of PML(N) Sindh at the residence of its
provincial chief Syed Ghaus Ali Shah. He said
that his visit to Karachi was in connection with
the meeting of National Finance Commission but
he also wanted meeting with his workers.
Karachi—The Chief Ministers of the Punjab,
Balochistan and Sindh together visited the
mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on
Thursday. Shahbaz Sharif, Nawab Aslam Raisani
and Syed Qaim Ali Shah placed floral wreaths at
the Mazar of the Father of the Nation and
offered Fateha. On the occasion, they also
recorded their impressions in the Visitors’
Book. All the three concurred on strengthening
the provinces in order to bring stability to the
country.
Karachi—A journal of International
Relations has been published. An announcement to
this effect was made by a spokesman of Karachi
University on Thursday. He said that this
journal of the Department of International
Relations, University of Karachi, is a bi-annual
research journal. This is the first journal on
International Relations published by any
Pakistani University, it was further pointed
out.
Karachi—Pakistan Pediatric Association (PPA),
comprising child specialists of the country have
registered its serious concern that Pakistan has
the second largest number of deaths among
children in their first week of life and fourth
largest number of under five deaths.
