Lahore—Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz
Sharif has said that Punjab government is
focusing on promotion of technical education for
the eradication of poverty and unemployment and
TEVTA has been made an autonomous and vibrant
institution for this purpose.
Lahore—Governor Punjab Salmaan Taseer has said
that the empowerment of women is the priority of
Pakistan People Party’s government. Women should
play their role in the development of the
society. This was stated by the Governor while
chairing a meeting of General Body of
International Women Club. The wife of Governor
Punjab Mrs. Aamna Taseer was also present there.
The President of International Women Club Ms.
Afshan K. Siddiqui briefed the meeting about the
activities of the Club.

Population Welfare Neelam Jabbar Ch.Tuesday
stressed the need for controlling rapidly
growing population, saying all citizens have a
right to health facilities, education,
sanitation, clean drinking water and other civic

Lahore—Lawyers
community in the provincial capital, following
the call of Punjab Bar Council (PbBC), observed
strike to protest against the murder and
kidnapping of their colleagues in Rahim Yar Khan
and Okara districts. Lahore High Court Bar
Association (LHCBA) and Lahore District Bar
Association (LDBA) observed boycott of the
court, and no lawyer appeared before the courts
thus expressing solidarity with their
colleagues.
