Peshawar—The NWFP Minister for Finance Engineer
Muhammad Humayun Khan Monday directed all the
executive district officers of Malakand Agency
to accelerate work on all the ongoing
development schemes. The Minister also ordered
the authorities to work out all the
pre-requisites and complete the schemes with
standard material so that the people of Malakand
could get the facilities for which the
provincial government was taking the initiative
of spending funds.
Peshawar—The NWFP Governor, Mr. Owais Ahmed
Ghani has strongly condemned the suicide car
bomb attack at Police Station, Badbher in
Peshawar on Monday and has appreciated the
courageous timely action of the security forces
in intercepting the terrorists. He has also
expressed his deep shock and grief over the
innocent precious lives.
Hyderabad—The Vice-Chancellor, Mehran University
of Engineering and Technology Jamshoro, Dr.
Abdul Qadeer Khan Rajput has called upon the
intellectuals and scholars to join hands for
further enhancement of the educational standard
at large and Mehran University in particular. He
expressed these views while presiding over the
28th meeting of the Senate of the University on
Monday.
Hyderabad—District Nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil has
said that the District Government is making all
out efforts to establish maximum number of
libraries in order to enhance literacy rate in
the district. He expressed these remarks at a
book donation ceremony by MPA Akram Adil to
Hasrat Mohani District Central Library here on
Monday.
Mirpur—In Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), a
three-day nation-wide immunization drive
commenced from Monday to save the children from
the disease of polio. Mobile teams of para-medical
staff comprising two staff-members visited
door-to-door during the campaign. The campaign
was formally inaugurated in all AJK district on
Monday to administer Polio vaccine and vitamin
‘A’ drops to every child of up to five years of
age, Official Sources told APP here. As many as
630,000 children of the age of up to five years
will be immunized with anti-polio vaccine drops
during the drive across Azad Jammu Kashmir. The
drive would continue till November, 18 with rest
of the country.
