Lahore—Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz
Sharif has said that progress and prosperity of
the province and service to the people is our
mission and no stone will be left unturned for
its accomplishment. He said that
record funds of Rs.175 billion are being spent
for the welfare of the people and provision of
basic facilities to the common man under Annual
Development Programme. He said that development
schemes are being completed on priority basis in
far-flung and backward areas.
Lahore—Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is
determined to strengthen democracy in the
country through building and strengthening
institutions which is key to solution of
manifold challenges confronted to the country as
well as nation. Senior Political Assistant
to Chief Minister Punjab and former MNA Mohammad
Pervez Malik has said that without the supremacy
of parliament the democracy may render weak,
rather cripple in the country. “Instead of
empowering persons, institutions need to be made
powerful so that the country could easily tackle
foreign interference,” he said.
Lahore—Punjab Minister for Transport, Excise &
Taxation and Education, Mian Mujtaba
Shuja-ur-Rehman has said that a comprehensive
system has been evolved for the provision of
better transport facilities to the people in all
big cities of the province and subsidy is also
being given to operators for this purpose.
He told that more new busses will be brought on
roads of provincial metropolis soon, whereas,
automatic ticketing system will soon be
introduced. He said that the government is
determined to provide modern transport
facilities to the citizens and 25% subsidy is
being given to the operators for this purpose.
Lahore—Capital City Police
Officer (CCPO), Muhammad Pervez Rathore has said
that a comprehensive strategy has been evolved
to curb crimes in the city with special focus on
professional training of police personnel to
improve their capacity and efficiency. Talking
to citizens at an Open Court held at Capital
City Police Headquarters here Friday, he said
eradication of crime and protection of life and
property of the citizens was top on Police
agenda with all available resources being
utilized in this regard. He called upon the
police officers and officials to perform their
duties with commitment.
Lahore—Minister for Population Welfare Punjab,
Neelam Jabbar Ch. has said that health,
education, law and order and other sectors faced
a decay during the eight years of dictatorship.
She said that medical facilities were available
to influential people under the last regime and
these people were availing free medicines and
treatment facilities in government hospitals at
all levels. However, she said that by increasing
the health budget by 37 percent, the present
government has ensured modern health facilities
and free medicines as well as air-conditioning
in general wards to poor and resource less
people.
