Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has castigated
the undemocratic role and baseless propaganda of
so called nationalists of Sindh adding that
history proved that they remained silent at the
time when the rights of the people were usurped
by undemocratic government. They started hue and
cry when the elected government was struggling
for the welfare of masses, he added. The Chief
Minister expressed these remarks while
addressing on the occasion of handing over of
land documents of Journalists Colony here at
Hyderabad Press Club on Monday afternoon.
Bahawalpur—Former
Information Minister Senator Mohammed Ali
Durrani Monday warned the government against a
massive food crisis in the offing, saying the
wheat growers were suffering badly as neither
the government nor private buyers were ready to
buy their paddy crop while 48 percent shortage
of water supply for the farmers of South Punjab
was terribly affecting the upcoming wheat crop.
The step-motherly treatment by the government
towards the people of Southern Punjab continues
and despite the fact that South Punjab is the
richest crops producing area, no center has been
set up by Passco in entire South Punjab for
buying the paddy crop.
Peshawar—The Society for Protection of Rights of
the Child (SPARC) has launched a five-days drive
to create mass mobilization regarding plight and
problems of bonded labours. In a week long
campaign starting from November 09, till 13th of
the current month aiming to create awareness
about bonded labours and proper implementation
its law, announced it Regional Manager SPARC
NWFP Jahanzeb Khan during a news conference at
press club here on Monday.
Hyderabad—The record available in audio visual
sections and research library of the University
of Sindh would be digitalized and efforts would
be made to promote and preserve the heritage at
the Institute of Sindhology upto international
level. It decided in a meeting of the Advisory
Board of the Institute of Sindhology University
of Sindh, which presided over by the Vice
Chancellor University of Sindh Mazhar-ul-Haq
Siddiqui who is also the Chairman of the
Advisory Board of the Institute.
Sialkot—The 132nd birth anniversary of Allama
Iqbal (Poet of the East) was observed in his
native city Sialkot with traditional zeal,
enthusiasm and fervour, as a rush of the people
was witnessed at Iqbal Manzil (the birthplace of
Allama Iqbal) in Sialkot. Quran Khawani was also
held at Iqbal Manzil Sialkot, in which the
hundreds of the people from all walks of life
participated. The day was dawn with the special
prayers and Quran Khawani at all the mosques in
Sialkot, Daska, Sambrial, Pasrur and surrounding
areas for the eternal peace of the Iqbal’s soul.
