Lahore—Governor Punjab Salman Taseer has said
that reports about his replacement are mere
propaganda. “Like NRO, the issue of change of
Punjab Governor should be buried,” he said. He
was talking to mediamen after visiting Allam
Iqbal’s tomb here on Monday. However, he
reiterated that if any move arises in this
regard he would apprise the media. He, however,
said that there was no truth in reports about
change of Punjab Governor.

Iqbal Khan, has said that the dream of
establishing true democracy in the country can
only be materialized through a stable political
system. It is the need of the day that all the
political parties should make collective efforts
for the strong democratic system.

Muslims through his poetry and philosophy and
inspired them about free life. The Poet of the
East through his sagacity had apprehended the
conspiracies of then Britishers and the Hindus,
and ultimately in his address at Allahabad, he
presented ‘Two Nation Theory’ as well as the
concept of separate homeland for the Muslims of
Sub-Continent.
Lahore—Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief
Imran Khan has undergone operation of intestine
here at Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital
on Monday. Imran was admitted to the hospital
following pain in his stomach, when he was busy
in daily routine exercise at his Zaman Park
residence, his family sources told Pakistan
Observer. Imran was rushed to Shaukat Khanum
Hospital where doctors after preliminary
investigations found blockade in his intestine.
In view of severe pain faced by Imran, the
doctors got conducted his operation that lasted
for about an hour.
Lahore—In order to
pay homage to the national poet Allama Dr
Muhammad Iqbal, a change of guard ceremony was
held at the Mazar-e-Iqbal in a befitting manner
and a smartly turned Pak Navy contingent assumed
duties, here on Monday. Pakistan Navy contingent
formed up outside the mazar while the contingent
of Pakistan Rangers, which performs guard duties
at the mazar round the year, also took positions
alongside. Both the outgoing and incoming
guards’ contingents were inspected by Captain
Akbar Naqi, Station Commander (Navy) Lahore.
