Karachi—Chairman National Reconstruction Bureau,
Dr Asim Hussain Monday said that terrorists have
started hitting soft targets and these are the
elements who are trying to destabilise the
government. He was talking to journalists after
the concluding session of 10th International
Radiological Conference-2010 held at a local
hotel at which he was chief guest. He said a
cancer continued to grow in the country and
terrorists kept growing during the last 25 years
and accumulating arms and ammunition.
Pakistani artist Haya Sehgal was invited by the
UAE Higher Colleges of Technology to display her
work at “The Festival of Thinkers” (2009). The
festival was opened by HH Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak
Al Nahayan, UAE’s Minister for Higher Education,
to Abu Dhabi (Nov 2 to Nov 4). The Festival of
Thinkers is a prestigious gathering of Noble
Laureates, intellectuals and other distinguished
leaders of thought who come together to
celebrate and share the power of thinking and
knowledge.

Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has castigated
the undemocratic role and baseless propaganda of
so called nationalists of Sindh adding that
history proved that they remained silent at the
time when the rights of the people were usurped
by undemocratic government. They started hue and
cry when the elected government was struggling
for the welfare of masses, he added. The Chief
Minister expressed these remarks while
addressing on the occasion of handing over of
land documents of Journalists Colony here at
Hyderabad Press Club on Monday afternoon.
Karachi—The sugar crisis in Karachi has gone bad
to worse where members of the ruling regime are
flouting Supreme Court orders. They are fully
involved in black-marketing of the commodity and
minting money by creating artificial shortage in
connivance with the sugar mills owners in the
province. Informed sources disclosed that a
former minister of the PPP has deployed his team
at Qasre Naz, the government rest house in
Karachi.

announced the appointment of Naveed Ismail as
its Managing Director. Ismail was previously
Chief Executive Officer, Karachi Electric Supply
Company (KESC) Ltd and his new role takes him to
the parent company level, responsible for the
strategic affairs, government relations and
regional partnerships of the Karachi-focused
utility’s holding company, whose investors
include majority shareholder Abraaj Capital, Al
Jomaih Group and NIG of Kuwait.
