  Gas management issue

Murad Ali Mohmand

The Federal Government has decided load management of Sui Gas and in the process ordered closure of CNG stations for two days. The Government doesn’t have any idea that million of people are using the CNG vehicles and most affected would be taxi drivers who are earning their livelihood for their families. I would request the Federal Government to reconsider this decision and find out proper solution instead of load shedding like electricity in the country. —Peshawar

  A joke with constitution

A Q Anjum

Major and dependable English dailies of Pakistan have complimented the National Reconciliation Ordinance as under: “That NRO put up before National Assembly Committee on Law and Justice is the amended version of the original NRO and that the NRO seems to be a joke with the Constitution. The additions done in the NRO have changed its real structure”.

Yet another paper says that the NRO has turned into an unconstitutional and iniquitous legislation after its treatment by the Committee on Law and Justice. It is evident that the NRO presented by the NA Committee runs against the grain of the Constitution of Pakistan and cannot be sustained on legal and ethical pedestals. —Rawalpindi

  Zardari’s politics

Wg Cdr H A Khwaja (R)

Almost all the newspapers on October 28,2009 carried a coloured photograph of the president Zardari and the Army Chief General Kayani. This is usual, but unusual was Quaid’s photograph placed on the corner table, instead of, usually, that of Mrs Zardari, the late BB. Is it politics, gimmick or change of heart? Since ZAB also declared Friday as a closed holiday to please the Muslim clergy and the people in his dying days of politics. Mr Zardari is good in politics and its games. Such a game is keeping MNS going in circles while he is circling the globe. Whereas the other day in one of the pictures in newspapers-pictures the entire family was displayed and Quaid’s photograph was conspicuously missing. Isn’t it all Mr Zardari’s politics?—Islamabad

  CSS papers format

Bunko

Civil Service of Pakistan (CSS) is a dream of its candidates to pass through it. However, Passing CSS is not an easy task, hours of hard work, researches, and attentive mind required to meet the success of CSS. This year, result of 2009 CSS announced after two-month delay, in which many students failed just by 10 to 12 marks short to meet the minimum requirement of 600 marks, to accomplish their goal of life. The reason behind their failure is the format of CSS paper of Islamiyat and English Composition paper.

On behalf of aspirants of CSS 2010, I realize the non-serious behavior of concerned authority towards its paper format. In Islamiyat paper, 20 marks of MCQ’s are related to Islamic History paper in lieu of Islamiyat paper. Furthermore 10 marks of synonymous and antonymous in English composition paper are not to check the ability and knowledge of candidate but not more than playing bluff in exam or challenging candidates luck to hit the jackpot. I request concerned authority to take effective notice against the paper format, So that hard work of day and night of candidates of CSS doesn’t go in vain.—Hyderabad

  Thoughts about terrorism

Mushahid Nawaz Khan

Terrorists and extremists have been taken away precious lives from loved ones and phobia of death has spread across our country. Such an experience could only be felt if experienced. People sleep the night wondering whether or not they will wake up the next morning alive. All this for what, one might ask. Is it to spread the words of Islam, the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), the command of Allah? I don not think so. This is not the way to spread Islam instead, is a short cut to spread the trepidation of power, to make the weak suffer and to terrorise all. Such immoral actions are strictly prohibited in Islam and should never in one’s life shall be done. Why don’t they understand that Islam is religion of peace not violence?

These terrorists of various groups are heartless beings who posses no emotions and have no love of God. Taking away lives is not Islamic, rather it is barbaric. Never was and never would be God pleased of such revolting actions of these terrorists. Putting others in agony, apprehension and distress never prove one’s strength. Have they not any emotions and isn’t there any human left inside them. They may be alive but they are lifeless inside. They are spineless, pathetic and dishonorable.

Our nation is putting all its efforts to test against this evil. We must not and should not give in to this evil. We must make efforts towards eliminating this evil one way or other. Our differences must be put aside and there must be unity amongst each other. We must remember that we are not different rather we are same. We must remember we are one. We must remember that we are Pakistanis and would not allow anyone to hurt our country. —Islamabad
