Islamabad—President Asif Ali Zardari on Friday
once again made it clear that he believes in
supremacy of the parliament urging he will
accept whatever the verdict of the Parliamentary
Committee (PC) is concerning his powers.
President Zardari expressed these views during
his meeting with Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza
Gilani, which is the second in last 24 hours at
Aiwan-e-Sadr.
Peshawar—With Operation Rah-e-Nijat, initiated

Dubai—Federal Minister
for Interior Rehman Malik has claimed that the
differences with Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM),
Pakistan Peoples Party’s ruling ally in centre
and Sindh province, have been settled, sources
reported. Malik, who along with President Asif
Ali Zardari’s close aide, Dr Asim Hussain, held
talks with a delegation of MQM in Dubai on
Friday on telephone that the bilateral
negotiations were concluded successfully with
most of the issues be resolved.
Islamabad—Gunmen fired on the car of an army
Brigadier, injuring him and his driver in a
third such attack against senior military
officers in 15 days. The brigadier and his
military driver were injured and taken to a
nearby hospital, said DG ISPR Maj. Gen. Athar
Abbas. The attack took place around 8:30 a.m. in
Sector I-8/4 when gunmen on a motorbike opened
fire at the car of Brigadier Hafiz Muhammad
Sohail as he drove out of his home onto the main
road. General Abbas said Brig.
Islamabad—After Muttahida Qaumi Movement and
Jamiat-e-Ulema-Islam (Fazl group) differences
with the government on NRO, the FATA members on
Friday also expressed annoyance and requested
the Speaker that they should be allotted seats
on Opposition benches. The FATA members have
been expressing displeasure over the government
attitude with them at various forums but today
(Friday) they formally asked the Speaker to
assign them seat on Opposition benches.
Orlando—Two people were killed and six were
hurt on Friday in the second mass shooting in
the United States in as many days, with police
still hunting the gunman in Orlando, Florida.
Panicked people rushed from the office building
as police team entered to try and track down the
shooter, whose spree began less than 24 hours
after a shooting rampage at a Texas military
base left 13 dead.
