Karachi—Acting Nazim Karachi, Nasrin Jalil has
said that youngsters of Karachi have proved that
middle class youth possess the talent with which
they can run better the administration of their
city and country. City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal
is its best example who through his sheer work
established that success is for certain if there
is sincerity of purpose and spirit to work and
today he has been invited by US universities as
guest speaker for which not only Karachi but
whole Pakistan can be proud of.
Karachi—The balloting for DHA City was held at
the Convention Hall of Defence Housing Authority
(DHA) Country and Golf Club here this morning.
Air Cdre Akmal Hussain, Base Commander PAF Base
Faisal who is also member of DHA Executive Board
conducted the ballot. Administrator DHA Brig
Khalid Tirmizi was also present on the occasion.
Applications for allotment of plots in DHA City
were asked from general public on 28th July
2009. More than 40,000 people applied for
residential and commercial plots in the scheme.
Karachi—Nazim Javed Ahmed of Jamshed Town,
became the first Town Nazim who gave
demonstration of unity keeping in view the
presentday situation in the country and launched
a unity sanitation drive from Quaid’s Mazar by
sweeping the road along with all the UC Nazims
and Naib Nazims. The event was participated by
UC Nazims and Naib Nazims belonging to Haq
Parast, Jamaat Islami, PPP, PML-N and PML-Q.

Dilawar has said that while environmental
degradation is gripping the world, the people
along with government organizations will have to
realise their responsibility and carry out
maximum plantation in their houses, streets and
mohallahs. He stated this while planting a tree
at Bakhtawar Park, Clifton, as part of ongoing
tree plantation drive and growth of greenery in
the Town.
Karachi—Advisor to Chief Minister Sindh Sharmila
Faruqui has said that National Assembly had
taken a historical step by approving a bill
unanimously on Wednesday to provide for a higher
punishment for sexual harassment against women.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Sharmila said
that the Senate of Pakistan must pass the
Criminal Law (Amendment) Bill so that it could
become law. She hailed increasing punishment for
the crime to up to three years in prison and a
fine of up to Rs 500,000 from up to one year.
