Islamabad—Working women across the society
Thursday hailed the legislation against sexual
harassment at any public or private workplace,
saying the step will provide better and safer
environment to womenfolk if implemented in its
true spirit. They were unanimous in their views
that true implementation of law against
harassment will embolden women to work in
various fields of their choices to not only earn
respectable livelihood but also contribute to
Nation’s development.
Islamabad—Arts &
Crafts exhibitions add colours to the unique
character and flavours of Islamabad. The Capital
Development Authority (CDA) is taking concrete
measures to promote traditional arts and
handicrafts in the Federal Capital so as to
reflect the rich traditions, culture and soft
image of the country. These views were expressed
by the Chairman CDA, Imtiaz Inayat Elahi, while
inaugurating two-day Arts & Handi Crafts
Exhibition of the SAARC countries here today at
Arts & Crafts Village. Artisans from India,
Nepal, Bangladesh, and other SAARC countries are
participating in the exhibition. Arts & Crafts
Organizations representing different areas of
the country are also participating in the
two-day colourful event.
Islamabad—Secretary Information and
Broadcasting, Mansoor Suhail has urged
information officers to play more active role in
promoting understanding between government and
people through creative messaging on national
interest. He was addressing an inaugural
ceremony of the 26th batch of Common Training
Programme here at the Information Service
Academy (ISA). Using strategic vision and
innovative practices, we need to play a critical
role in promoting understanding between
government and people through progressive
attitudes, hope and courage, he said.
Islamabad—Chief
Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry
has been invited to receive International
Jurists Award 2009 in recognition of his
outstanding contributions which would be
presented by the President of India in the
presence of Chief Justice of India and other
Chief Justices, judges from India and other
countries. Chief Justice of Pakistan has also
been invited to attend an International
Conference of Jurists jointly organized by
International Council of Jurists, all India Bar
Association, All India Senior Advocates
Association and Indian Council of Jurists from
21 November to 23 at New Delhi and Agra, says a
press release here Thursday.
Islamabad—President Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday
said the political relations between Pakistan
and Bangladesh needed to be translated into
substantive economic and trade linkages for the
mutual benefit. Talking to Yasmeen Murshid, the
outgoing High commissioner of Bangladesh who
paid a farewell call on him, President Zardari
said Pakistan highly values its relations with
Bangladesh and wishes to further enhance
cooperation in all fields.
