Lahore—Lawyers of the Lahore
High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) and the
Lahore Bar Association (LBA), on the call of the
Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) and the
Punjab Bar Council, here Tuesday observed a
black day to protest the imposition of emergency
and PCO on November 3, 2007. The bars also
observed a strike and no lawyer appeared before
courts from 11am onwards while black flags also
were hoisted at bar buildings.
Lahore—Punjab Assembly Tuesday
passed a resolution condemning steps taken by
former President Gen. (R) Pervez Musharraf on
November 3, 2007. Provincial Law Minister Rana
Sanaullah requested the speaker to allow for
moving the resolution suspending rules of
procedure of the PA 1997 under rule 234. Deputy
Speaker Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan was charing the
15th session.
