Govt to keep eye on private schools security

Lahore—Provincial Minister for Excise & Taxation, Transport and Education, Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman has said that government will provide every possible cooperation and assistance to private educational institutions for ensuring security of educational institutions.

Majority supports military action in Waziristan: Survey

Lahore—November 03 (NNI): A recent poll shows that 51 per cent support the military action in South Waziristan tribal region and only 13 per cent opposed the move.The Gilani poll conducted during the last week of October 2009 by Gallup Pakistan shows tat a significant 36 per cent are unsure.

Fight against terror Pak’s own war: Shahbaz

He said that solidarity of Pakistani nation at this hour is the result of mental harmony in the political leadership that is why the whole nation is standing shoulder to shoulder with the armed forces regarding military operation in Waziristan.

Lawyers observe black day

Lahore—Lawyers of the Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) and the Lahore Bar Association (LBA), on the call of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) and the Punjab Bar Council, here Tuesday observed a black day to protest the imposition of emergency and PCO on November 3, 2007. The bars also observed a strike and no lawyer appeared before courts from 11am onwards while black flags also were hoisted at bar buildings.

PA condemns Nov 3 steps

Lahore—Punjab Assembly Tuesday passed a resolution condemning steps taken by former President Gen. (R) Pervez Musharraf on November 3, 2007. Provincial Law Minister Rana Sanaullah requested the speaker to allow for moving the resolution suspending rules of procedure of the PA 1997 under rule 234. Deputy Speaker Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan was charing the 15th session.
