Karachi—Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali
Shah has expressed grief over the train accident
at Jumma Goth railway station and resultant loss
of precious lives. Condoling with the bereaved
families, the Chief Minister directed the
administration and health authorities in
particular to extend every help to affectees and
spare no effort in the treatment of injured.
Karachi—Provincial Minister for Environment and
Alternative Energy, Shaikh Muhammad Afzal, has
emphasised the need for the implementation of
environmental laws. The Minister said this on
Tuesday while talking to a delegation of the
office bearers of the Korangi Association of
Trade and Industry.
Karachi—The University of
Karachi on Tuesday announced that admissions for
the year 2010 to the departments holding
aptitude tests will begin from November 4. An
official said on Tuesday that the admission
forms for B.S. (First and Third Year) and
Masters Programme can be obtained from the
Silver Jubilee Gate against the prescribed fee
of Rs 1,000. The forms can be submitted till
November 12 and the aptitude test will be
conducted within the dates of November 22 and
26.
Karachi—Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan
has directed the formation of Ulema Committee in
the Province to liaison between Madaris, Ulema
and the Government. On Ulema’s concern regarding
action by law enforcing organizations at Madaras
recently, the Governor assured that with better
liaisoning, such incidents could be checked. He
was talking to an Ulema delegation, led by
Maulana Adil of Jamia Rehmania, which called on
him at Governor House here Tuesday.

Sindh Culture and Tourism Department. In a
meeting with the Chief Minister, the Culture and
Tourism Minister Ms Sassui Palejo said that
writers of Sindh are faced with great financial
problems and they have pinned great hopes in the
present democratic government.
