Islamabad—Minister for Interior Rehman Malik
Tuesday stressed for national unity to eliminate
terrorism from the country and foil the designs
of anti-state elements poised to destabilize the
democratic process to achieve certain goals. It
is need of the hour, that the Parliament showed
unity against terrorism and extremism. Militants
have huge weaponry including machine guns,
anti-aircraft guns and others,” he told the
National Assembly and questioned where from
these weapons are being supplied to them.

seven dacoits operating at inter-provincial
level including the gang leader Javed Akhtar
Tanoli who committed heinous robberies and
dacoities at gun points. During interrogation,
the gang members confessed to commit 17
dacoities including looting the house of a
Senior Journalist Tahir Mughal.

‘Oxford Book Fair 2009’ with its amazing
collection, continues to attract book-lovers in
the Federal Capital, reviving the tradition of
book reading. The month-long book fair organized
by Oxford University Press started with the
advent of November and maintained its spirit
this year too by engaging the people of all ages
toward book reading activities.

private schools of the twin cities have
initiated E-learning study programme to
facilitate the students in the prolonged
holidays due to the recent security threats. The
parents as well as teachers seemed to be
disturbed over the continuous holidays which
halted the study routine of the students,
creating psychological impact on their minds.
Most of the private institutions have extended
vacations fearing terrorist activities.
Islamabad—Participants of 10th
National Security Workshop (NSW), being held at
National Defence University on Tuesday visited
General Headquarters Rawalpindi. During the
visit, participants were given a briefing on
“Pakistan Army, Challenges and Response” by
Major General Javed Iqbal, Director General
Military Operations. The ingenuous interactive
session was followed after the formal briefing.
