Peshawar—NWFP Governor, Owais Ahmed Ghani has
stressed the need for providing emergency
passage facility to the people of Chitral
through the under construction Lowari Tunnel
during the ensuing winter season. Presiding over
a briefing to review pace of progress on the
project at Governor’s House Peshawar, the
Governor said, “ensuring security of this
project of vital importance is must but at the
same time there is a need to facilitate the
people on humanitarian grounds as well”, he
added.

health week was observed here in the Benazir

Hyderabad—A research scholar Dil Nawaz Hakro
maintains that Sindhi Optical Character System
could be developed and the same could be used as
a foundation for further Sindhi language
characters’ recognition by applying recent
techniques of computer vision. The scholar
claimed this while delivering the final seminar
for his M.Phil thesis at the Institute of
Information and Communication Technology (IICT),
Jamshoro. A University spokesman said this is
first research initiative for Sindhi character
recognition, which has been taken by IICT.

preparation by torching their boilers in the
