Karachi—City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal has said
that despite poor financial condition and other
difficulties, all four flyovers of signal free
corridor-IV will be completed in less than 4
months period. Whatever be the conditions in
city, these projects will be completed before
time because they hold much importance for city
and country. He expressed these views while
inspecting the work of under construction
flyovers at Corridor-IV and afterwards during a
high level meeting at KWSB Chairman’s Office
today..
Karachi—The
Inspection Committee for under- construction
buildings of Karachi Building Control Authority
has formally started functioning. In this
regard, on the directive of Chief Controller
Manzoor Qadir, all the KBCA’s Town Sections have
provided details of number and location of
ongoing private public sale projects to
Controller Administration.
Karachi—The meeting of DHA Executive Board
chaired by Corps Commander Lt. Gen. Shahid Iqbal
who is also President of the Executive Board was
held at Corps Headquarters to review the
progress of DHA mega projects. According to a
statement issued on Monday, the Executive Board
approved a record Budget of Rs 6.6 billion for
undertaking development works in DHA for the
fiscal year 2009-10. The development works
include Infrastructure Development of
Phase-VIII, construction of flyover at
Ittihad-Korangi Road, Flyover at Sundial Chowk
and an Under Pass at Creek Avenue.
Karachi—Sindh Home Minister Dr. Zulfikar Ali
Mirza has directed Police and Pakistan Rangers (Sindh)
to chalk out a joint strategy and fool-proof
plan for the security of traders and trucks
bringing sacrificial animals for the occasion of
Eid-ul-Azha and for identification of people
entering Sindh. For this purpose, he said, the
patrolling, picketing and checking system be
made effective at their routes by concerned
police and not only security be befed up but the
elements entering here illegally be kept under
strict vigil with immediate action against them.
Karachi—Advisor to Chief Minister Sindh,
Sharmila Farooqi has lamented the incidents of
sexual assault on children and said the
government is taking concerted steps to check
such heinous offences. She stated this while
specially attending the monthly meeting of Child
Regional Assembly ((Sindh) of Society for
Protection of the rights of children (SPARK)
here at a local hotel.
