Ebad stresses on Lyari improvement

Karachi—Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan has stressed on pursuing a multi-pronged strategy to improve the conditions in Lyari. On one hand we have to attain the confidence of people and take effective action against criminal elements on the other”, he said while talking to the participants of 10th National Security Workshop held under the National Defence University, led by NDU’s Maj Gen Azhar Shah, which called on him at Governor House.

Security further beefed up in Karachi, foreigners held

Karachi—Police and Rangers’ additional contingents are deployed at different roads of Karachi to avert any terror incident as snap checking was underway at various places. Interior ministry had issued directives to police authorities to strengthen security outside mosques and Imambargahs for Friday prayers. Surveillance cameras have been installed around key government buildings and snap shooters also deployed over rooftops of Police, Rangers and Army offices.

Karachi—The people of Libya highly respect the Pakistani workers and their hearts are imbibed with love for the people of Pakistan. This was stated by Pakistan’s ambassador to Libya, Jamil Ahmed Khan while addressing a literary meeting during visit to Al-Mustafa Welfare Society here Friday.

Students throng SSUET for admission

Karachi—The number of students seeking admissions in various disciplines of engineering in Sir Syed University of Engineering and technology surpssed all previous records. For admission in academic year 2010, a total of 2452 students obtained admission registration forms as against 2165 obtained in 2009 and 2087 in 2008.
