Peshawar—NWFP Information Minister Mian Iftikhar
Hussain has reiterated the government’s firm
stance against insurgents saying that Jihad
against terrorism will continue and terrorists
would be eliminated even at a cost of our lives.
Peshawar—Provincial Relief, Reconstruction
Rehabilitation and Settlement Authority, with
the support of district administration and
Pakistan Army, is launching housing survey from
November 5, 2009. According to official sources,
all the arrangements have been completed for the
housing survey, which would take 20 days.
Peshawar—Regional Director Pakistan
Telecommunication Authority (PTA), Wasiullah
Gandapure Wednesday informed that about five
million mobile phone subscribers have so far
benefited from the PTA’s Sim Information
System-668 and about 600,000 connections have
been registered in the name of real owners.
Talking to journalists here at his office,
Regional Director PTA said the Sim Information
System of the authority has received very
positive results as within few days of its
launching about five million mobile users have
submitted forms for cancellation of additional
connections issued by mobile companies against
their names.
Sheikhupura—At least four dacoits were killed by
locals when they broke into a house for a
robbery attempt, police and local sources said.
Taking to newsmen, neighbour Mohammad Akram
narrated that a group of robbers broke into the
house of Mohammad Mansha when the family was a
sleep. The robbers took the inmates at gunpoint
which caused some uproar and women of the family
started crying. “I was sleeping at the roof top
of my house when I heard women’ cries and I
fired a few shots into the air, which alerted
the other neighbours,” Akram said.
