Islamabad —The Federal Minister for Food and
Agriculture, Nazar Mohammad Gondal emphasized on
the role of research in the modern day
agriculture. We need to work on modern research
technologies in agriculture sector to increase
the per acre yield of crops” said the Federal
Minister. The Federal Minister expressed that it
is through research that we can produce quality
seeds that would maximize our crops production.
The minister said that we need extensive
research in agriculture sector to ensure food
security for our people.
Lahore—Australia is ready to extend every
possible help to Pakistan in agro, food, dairy,
livestock and energy sectors while it would also
invest in Punjab for coal-based energy projects
which would help Pakistan to overcome its
ongoing energy crisis.
Karachi—wi-tribe, a
Qtel Group Company, has today announced its
alliance with a top WiMAX customer premises
equipment (CPE) manufacturer to give its
customers a top of the line branded device.
Initially, customers in Pakistan will be able to
use the customized CPE to access the wi-tribe
network in areas of coverage and plans to launch
customized products onto other markets.
Islamabad—A Spokesman of the textile Industry on
Tuesday said that the key Pakistani exports,
namely textiles, have started showing positive
signs. In a statement issued here, the Spokesman
said that during the first three months of
current financial year textile exports have
amounted to a monthly average of US$ 823 million
compared to a monthly average of $770 million
recorded during the first six months of 2009.
Islamabad—The Islamic Development Bank (IDB),
Jeddah has consented to provide loan of $140
million to replace decades-old and obsolete
signaling system of Pakistan Railways. Under the
agreement, the Bank would finance the
procurement, installation and commissioning of
equipment to establish modern computerized
signaling system including training, project
supervision, consultant and corresponding
project contingency.
