Karachi—Advisor to Chief Minister Sindh,
Sharmila Faruqui on Sunday said collective
efforts are needed for the eradication of fatal
disease like Polio from the country. Talking to
a delegation of Society for Protection of the
Rights of the Child (SPARC) led it by Program
Manager, Sindh Nazra Khatoon called on here, she
said solid measures will have to be adopted to
save the children from this menace.
Karachi—The Zakat and Ushr department Sindh
has distributed Rs 168.870 million among
district zakat committees of 23 districts of
Sindh. According to Provincial Minister Zakat
and Ushr, Mohammed Sajid Jokhio, this amount
will now be distributed among genuine recepients
of zakat upto lowest level. In Karachi Rs 55.190
million will be spent on technical education,
health, dowry fund, deeni madaris and among poor
students as scholarship.

all segments of the society including Ulema and
businessmen to play their role in encountering
the challenges faced to the country in the
obtaining situation. He was talking to
delegations of Daawat-e-Islami and Pakistan
Steel and Iron Merchants Association who
separately called on him at Governor House.
Karachi—The DHA has decided to launch a
week-long campaign to collect and raise funds
for the internally displaced persons (IDPs) from
Mehsud Tribe of South Waziristan. This was
decided in a meeting held at Defence Housing
Authority’s Main Office here.
Karachi—The Local Government Department has,
with the approval of competent authority, issued
orders of transfer and repatriation of 540
clerks/non-SCUG officiating secretaries of union
councils to their parent departments with
immediate effect.
