Peshawar—The world community and
international donor agencies have been urged by
NWFP Government to full their aid pledges for
the rehabilitation and reconstruction of
militancy-hit Swat and Malakand. The devastation
in Swat and Malakand is behind expectation. I
appeal to the international community to come
forward and fulfill their aid pledges so that
reconstruction process in Swat and Malakand
Division could be started in large scale,” NWFP
Minister for Science and Technology, Ayub Ashari
told APP. He said that hundreds of schools,
health units, roads, bridges, forestry, tourism
and agriculture sectors have received heavy
damages during the last two years due to
militancy and terrorism.
Peshawar—Regional Director Pakistan
Telecommunication Authority (PTA), Wasiullah
Gandapure has said that there is no threat of
mobile sims hacking by terrorists through
messaging as no such system exist to take
control of the cell phone connection of other
users through replying to messages. Talking to
APP here on Wednesday, Regional Director PTA
said misuse of mobile sims of other users is
impossible unless the sim is extracted from the
mobile set. He was replying to press reports
about warning received by several mobile users
not to respond to messages directing them to
press some numbers and send to the sender of
message for checking the quality of service.
Muzaffarabad—Polls for new leader of the
house of AJK legislative assembly will take
place today while speaker assembly will perform
the duty of election commissioner. The special
session of AJK legislative assembly will be held
today to elect new prime minister through secret
balloting. The counting of votes will be started
at 1500 hrs.
Peshawar—Government of Pakistan has completed
renovation and rehabilitation work in Government
Primary School in Muslim Bagh, Khar and water
supply scheme in Dabdabu Village, Salarzai
Tehsil, Bajaur, these developmental schemes
would benefit hundreds of locals in the area.
These projects were identified by the community
members of the respective villages in meetings
held with local Political Administration,
because growing militancy in the area badly
damaged the local infrastructure. Therefore, the
Political administration ordered immediate work
on the execution of these schemes.
Sialkot—The police and other law enforcing
agencies launched a crack down against the
illegally residing Afghan nationals in Sialkot
district and arrested as many as 12 Afghan
nationals from Sialkot district’s all the four
Sialkot, Daska, Sambrial and Pasrur tehsils.
Sialkot DPO Waqar Ahmad Chohan told the newsmen
that the arrested Afghans have been shifted to
the separate places for fur further
interrogation after registering separate cases
against them for residing illegally in Sialkot
district. Further investigations are underway.
