Multan—Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood
Qureshi said on Tuesday the country was passing
through difficult times and could not afford
political point scoring at such critical
juncture. Talking to newsmen upon his arrival at
airport, he said the kind of national solidarity
we need today was never felt before and added,
“I want to request Pakistan’s national political
leadership, intellectuals, youths, students,
farmers and workers to show a sense of
responsibility, forebearance and solidarity at
this point of time. He said, “There should be a
limit to political point scoring and it should
not be stretched to the extent that it hurts
national interest.”
Peshawar—District Coordination Officer (DCO)
imposed section 144 for period of thirty days
due to deteriorating law and order in the
provincial metropolis on Tuesday. The
capital city Peshawar has been facing worsening
law and order situation since Eid-ul-Fitr of the
current year, and during the month, several
tragic incidents in shape of bomb blasts or
suicide attacks were occurred in which dozens of
precious lives were lost and maimed.
Sialkot—The concerned officials of Sialkot
Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) still
remain unable to take any legal action against
12 illegal declared private housing schemes in
Sialkot city, due to which the owners of these
housing colonies were allegedly plundering heavy
amounts from the people by selling the plots in
these colonies, which have no basic facilities
there including electricity, water, gas,
telecommunication and road infrastructure.
Sialkot—The Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has established
as many as 200 polling stations in Sialkot
district’s all the four Sialkot, Daska, Sambrial
and Pasrur tehsils for holding the anti Kerr
Lugar Bill Referendum and larger scale mounting
interference of the US in the internal affairs
of Pakistan.
Peshawar—Centre for Disaster Preparedness and
Management (CDPM) University of Peshawar
organized an international conference on
Integrated Disaster Management and Climate
Change Adaption in to Policy making at Bara Gali
Summer Campus. This international conference was
inaugurated by the Federal Minister Sardar Assef
Ahmad Ali, Deputy Chairman Planning Commission.
The conference continued for three days in which
twenty four research papers were presented and a
simulation exercise was demonstrated by the
Search and Rescue.
