No difference in new NFC Award: Tanvir

Lahore—Provincial Minister for Finance, Tanvir Ashraf Kaira has said that there is no difference among provinces regarding new National Finance Commission Award (NFC) and all provinces are going in a right direction regarding distribution of fiscal resources.

64 nazims join PML-N

Lahore—Some 64 nazims, councillors and traders belonging to tehsil Chichawatni announced their joining Pakistan Muslim League-N during a press conference at 8-Club Road on Tuesday. Senior Advisor to Chief Minister, Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khosa, Punjab Local Governments Minister Sardar Dost Muhammad Khosa, Food Minister Nadeem Kamran and Raja Ashfaq Pervez welcomed the newcomers to the party.

Police smashe 553 criminal gangs

Lahore—Lahore Police has smashed no less than 553 criminal gangs and arrested their 1769 members, while looted property, worth 1004 million rupees, has also been recovered during the nine and half months of the current year. As many as moreover 23 thousand court absconders and proclaimed offenders have also been nabbed during this period.

Foreign delegates to attend Asian Buffalo Congress

Lahore—Nearly 23 foreign delegates have confirmed their participation in the three-day 6th Asian Buffalo Congress to be held in the city on October 27 and the National Buffalo Fair on October 30. The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, in collaboration with the Livestock and Dairy Development Department Punjab and the Asian Buffalo Association (ABA) will arrange the mega event.

Farmers for world role to avert Indian aggression

Lahore—India is violating the Indus water treaty by blocking and hindering the flow of river water to Pakistan. India had been allowed restricted use of water for power generation and agriculture from Ravi,  Sutlej and Beas rivers under the Indus water treaty which both countries signed in 1960, said President Pakistan United Growers Front, Muhammad Ayub Mayo, in an interview on Tuesday.
